‘Pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you’ 1 Thess 5:17

At MBC we believe the most important meeting of the week is the prayer meeting, where we come together as a church to give thanks to God for his goodness whilst also taking time to pray for different church ministries, Musselburgh and the world.

The normal format of the evening consists of an initial time of prayer followed by a short message from one of the church members or a visiting speaker from a Christian organisation. Then the remaining time is devoted to prayer. The prayer meeting is held every Wednesday night in the church building apart from the second Wednesday of every month when the house groups take place. We start at 19:30 and everyone is welcome.

The home bible study is held on the second Wednesday of every month. It is a great way to get involved in the community at MBC as we split into small groups to study God’s word.

Prayer Squares have allowed different generations in our church to meet together to encourage and pray. Sometimes we can get lost in numbers on Sundays but committing to a smaller group helps to build friendship and connection. There is flexibility to meet whenever it suits. If you’re new to the church this might well be the best way to integrate and have others pray meaningfully for you.
